ROBERT MOREAU

Police arrest man after giving wanted brother's name

MANCHESTER - Police said a motorist who thought there was a warrant out for his arrest identified himself as his brother when he was pulled over for speeding - only to be arrested anyway because his brother was wanted for operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Robert Moreau, 39, decided to come clean when he was being booked Saturday under his brother's name, police said. Police said Moreau had a valid license and there were no warrants for his arrest, but he was promptly arrested for providing a false name to an officer.

He was booked on charges of disobeying a police officer and violation of bail conditions set on a prior theft charge.

Police said had he given his real name when he was pulled over Saturday morning on Valley Street near Beech Street, he probably would have received a speeding ticket or he might have just received a warning.

Christie is the real deal

We have found Gov. Chris Christie to be the most consistent, the most confident in his abilities, the most tested under fire, and the most likely to regain the White House from a disastrous Democratic regime.
