Town joins beach access dispute in Rye
RYE — The town has weighed in on the controversy at Sanders Poynt in court documents asking a judge to force the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club to file an application with the Planning Board. The issue at Sanders Poynt erupted in October after the country club on Route 1B had a split-rail fence, shrubs and rocks installed on property it owns along the road. Residents became upset when the development blocked access to Sanders Poynt, a turnaround spot that has traditionally been a public access point to the public Little Harbor Beach.
