NASHUA - A dive team is preparing to enter the Nashua River Thursday afternoon to remove a body spotted earlier by a passer-by.

The body, an adult male, is currently floating on top of the water, stuck on a branch.

"The current is pretty swift, so they are trying to figure out how to remove him. It is deeper than they initially thought," said Lt. Michael Moushegian.

Police are not speculating on the identity of the body, but did say that a person was reported missing in February while taking his dog for a walk along the river.

"But at this point we don't know who it is," said Moushegian.

A small crowd of spectators has gathered to watch police and the dive team attempt to remove the body behind Margarita's Restaurant.
