Tolisano lifts Fisher Cats

MANCHESTER - John Tolisano homered in the sixth inning, then tripled and scored the winning run in the eighth, lifting the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 6-5 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils on Sunday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Tolisano hit a one-out gapper to right-center, then trotted home on Kevin Pillar's single. Closer Chad Beck struck out the side in the ninth, giving New Hampshire a split of the four-game season-opening series.

New Hampshire sends Ryan Tepera to the hill for the opener of a three-game series against Trenton tonight at 6:35.

The Fisher Cats trailed early on Sunday, but Tolisano's second homer of the season, a two-run shot to right, highlighted a three-run sixth inning.

Reading's Sebastian Valle homered to tie the game at 5-5 in the seventh, leading to Tolisano's final heroics.
