The Fisher Cats sent 10 batters to the plate in the first inning and kept hammering the Trenton Thunder in a 15-7 win in Manchester on Monday night. New Hampshire (3-2) and matched a club record with 13 walks in the series opener before 3,905.
Nashua South product Kevin Nolan had the go-ahead hit in the bottom of the first inning, and the Fisher Cats plated five runs off Trenton starter Matt Tracy (0-1) in the first.
Ryan Tepera (1-0) gave up a solo home run in the first inning but threw five innings, giving up three runs for the win. Clint Robinson had a pair of doubles, a single, and picked up his league-best eighth walk. Sean Ochinko drove in four runs for the Fisher Cats.
