Littleton Food Co-op continues outreach
LITTLETON - The Littleton Food Co-op is working with The Children's House Montessori School this month to raise funds and awareness.
As the Co-op's "Partner of the Month," The Children's House will receive all donations placed in the checkout canisters at the store, as well as $1 for every fresh pizza sold at the Co-op's Deli on Pizza Fridays.
Opened in 1971, The Children's House - on Bronson street in Littleton - strives to provide children with a stimulating learning environment and varied experiences to help them develop socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally.
The school enrolls 40 children aged 18 months to 6 years from towns throughout the North Country. The Children's House orchestrates several fundraisers throughout the year to help cover program and operational expenses, including an event at Garnet Hill in Franconia in May and a July golf tournament at the Maplewood in Bethlehem. Representatives from the school will be at the Co-op to share information during the April 19 pizza night from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information about the school, call (603) 444-6464 or email email@example.com.
"We started our 'Partner of the Month' program soon after we opened in 2009 as a way to collaborate with other area nonprofit groups to help raise awareness of their work in our community," said Littleton Food Co-op manager Ed King. "Through the generosity of our customers, the Co-op has been able to donate thousands of dollars to a variety of groups over the past four years. We're pleased this month to be working with The Children's House."
