BOSTON -- A task force of Massachusetts law enforcement agencies is seeking the public's assistance to identify a bank robber responsible for seven armed robberies in northeastern Massachusetts since February.
Police said the "Merrimack Valley Bandit" is considered armed and dangerous.
According to officials, during each robbery he used a small handgun and pointed t at the tellers. In some, the robber threatened to harm the tellers should they not comply with his commands. Police said he might have had an accomplice waiting nearby in a white or light-colored car.
A task force composed of the FBI and police departments from Lawrence, Methuen, Dracut, and Groveland is asking the public to review photos of the robber at https://bankrobbers.fbi.gov
A white logo on a jacket worn in one of the robberies may be recognizable by someone familiar with the suspect.
Although the specific design is not distinguishable in the surveillance photos, it may provide useful information about the identity of the robber, police said. The robber is described as having thin eyebrows.
Additionally, through a partnership with Clear Channel, digital billboards in the Merrimack Valley will be used to seek tips from the public.
