Lottery breaks sales record

CONCORD - The New Hampshire Lottery sold more than $16.9 million in instant tickets in March, marking the highest monthly sales for instant tickets in a non-holiday month in its 50-year history, lottery officials said.

According to lottery sales reports, for fiscal year 2013, instant ticket sales are up more than 11 percent over last year.

New Hampshire was the only state in New England in the top 10 list of state lotteries showing an increase in instant sales, making it the fastest growing lottery in New England, said lottery officials, who noted that the lottery has contributed more than $1.5 billion toward education since it began in 1964.

Dyn named 'most democratic workplace'

MANCHESTER - For the second year in a row, Dyn has been named to the WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces. Dyn, which is based in Manchester and provides Internet infrastructure as a service, joins 50 other companies from around the world including WD-40 Co., TakingITGlobal and Zappos.com, a Dyn client.

Of the companies to be named to the WorldBlu list, Dyn is one of only 12 that are based in or have offices in the United Kingdom. Eligibility for the award is based entirely on employee feedback.

The company was highlighted for practicing the democratic principle of decentralization by having no social media policy. "They want their employees to have a voice to become brand ambassadors for the organization on their own terms," WorldBlu wrote.

Cumberland Farms campaign aids CHaD

LEBANON - Cumberland Farms stores in New Hampshire and Vermont are donating five cents per cup of hot coffee sales during the month of April to benefit the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
