UNH's van Riemsdyk an All-American

University of New Hampshire sophomore defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk has been named an All-America first team defenseman.

The team was announced Friday at the men's Frozen Four in Pittsburgh.

van Riemsdyk, of Middletown, N.J., had eight goals and 25 assists this season for the Wildcats.

Other members of the East first team are Quinnipiac senior goalie Eric Hartzell, Rensselaer Polytechnic senior defenseman Nick Bailen, UMass Lowell junior defenseman Chad Ruhwedel, St. Lawrence senior forward Kyle Flanagan, Boston College sophomore forward Johnny Gaudreau, sophomore, and Boston College senior forward Steven Whitney.

West first teamers are Ohio state senior goalie Brady Hjelle, St. Cloud State junior defenseman Nick Jensen, Michigan freshman defenseman Jacob Trouba, Miami sophomore forward Austin Czarnik, North Dakota senior forward Danny Kristo, and St. Cloud state senior forward Drew LeBlanc.

Members of the East second team are Providence freshman goalie Jon Gillies, Union sophomore defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, St. Lawrence senior defenseman George Hughes, St. Lawrence junior forward Greg Carey, Merrimack junior forward Mike Collins, and Yale senior forward Andrew Miller.

The West second team is Denver sophomore goalie Juho Olkinuora, Western Michigan junior defenseman Dan DeKeyser, Minnesota junior defenseman Nate Schmidt, North Dakota senior forward Corban Knight, Notre Dame junior forward Anders Lee, and Nebraska-Omaha junior forward Ryan Walters.
