Celtics clinch No. 7 seed with easy win over Magic

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Jeff Green scored 17 points to lead seven players in double figures as visiting Boston clinched the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 120-88 victory over the Orlando Magic.

Courtney Lee added 20 points off the bench and Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass and Avery Bradley scored 14 apiece as the Celtics beat Orlando for the eighth consecutive time to set up a first-round playoff matchup with No. 2 seed New York.

Tobias Harris scored 22 points and Nikola Vucevic had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Magic, who fell for the 14th time in 16 games to join Charlotte as the only teams with 60 losses.

Boston scored the first nine points and led by as many as 11 in the first quarter before Orlando cut the deficit to 23-17 after one quarter. The Magic quickly pulled within three early in the second before the Celtics went on a game-breaking run.

Garnett scored six points to trigger a 15-0 burst as Boston pushed the lead to 39-21 midway through the second en route to a 57-37 halftime edge. A 6-0 spurt to open the second half made it a 26-point lead and the Celtics coasted from there.
