Nashua man arrested in N.Y. for allegedly cashing stolen check

Ricardo Velasco of Nashua was apprehended in New York Wednesday and returned to New Hampshire to face a charge of cashing a stolen check for $1,325 that he had written out to himself.
Velasco, 24, whose last known address is 25 Tolles St., Apt. B, was apprehended in New Windsor, N.Y., and extradited to New Hampshire to face a felony forgery charge as well as a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge, police said. He will be arraigned today on the offenses.
Police learned of the stolen check when a citizen reported someone had stolen a checkbook from his vehicle.
