Meals on Wheels gala benefit on Saturday
MERRIMACK - St. Joseph Community Services, which provides Meals on Wheels and community dining throughout Hillsborough County, will host its 19th annual gala benefit from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Manchester.
This year's theme is "Run for the Roses" because the gala will be on the same day as the Kentucky Derby.
Hundreds of fashionably attired guests are expected to dance the night away to music by K & S Music, enjoy a dinner, bid on auctions and see performances by local ballroom dancers. Mike Morin, co-host of WZID radio's New Hampshire in the Morning show, will be the master of ceremonies.
The proceeds from the gala, SJCS's biggest fundraiser of the year, will help the agency to continue to deliver food, friendship and a daily safety check to elderly and homebound disabled people in the county.
Tickets are $60 and may be purchased at MealsOnWheelsNH.org, by email at Meals@SJCSinc.org or by calling 424-9967. For those unable to attend, donations are welcome at any time.
Since it opened in 1977, SJCS has provided more than 11 million hot, nutritious meals. For more information, go to www.MealsOnWheels-NH.org.
