Derryfield defeats Central girls in lacrosse

Elsbeth Caulo scored six goals and Polly Carter finished with five to lead the Derryfield School girls' lacrosse team to a 21-3 triumph over Manchester Central on Saturday

Brynn Polgrean and Chloe Warner each added three goals for Derryfield.

Bow 19, Goffstown 8: At Bow, Goffstown's Faith Francouer scored four goals, but the Grizzlies dropped to 3-4 in Division II. Courtney Caron, MacKenzie Chu, Sydney Gagnon and Anne Steckowych also scored for Goffstown, which received eight saves from Dulcie Trottier. Bow improved its record to 2-6.

Londondery 11, Pinkerton 6: At Londonderry, Noelle Lambert, Alexa Bedell and Maeve Holland each scored three goals to lead the Lancers to victory. Londonderry goalie Sarah Ford made eight saves.

Boys' lacrosse

Derryfield 22, Central 2: At Manchester, Matt Milne collected seven goals and two assists as Derryfield raised its Division III record to 10-0. Grant Alenson added three goals for the Cougars, who led 12-2 at the half. The loss dropped Central's Division I record to 2-5.

Malden Catholic 13, Nashua North 6: At Malden, Mass., the Titans received three goals from Billy Loranger and two from Adam Murphy, but dropped to 5-6 in Division I.

North goalkeeper Spenser Petz made 11 saves.


Manchester West 11, Milford 9: At Milford, Ryan Askham scored five goals, Zach Ziemba scored two goals and added two assists, and Eric Lescatre added two goals for West on Friday. Talia Cote made 10 saves for the Blue Knights.

Bow 10, Goffstown 5: At Goffstown, Devin Calkins scored five goals as Bow improved to 5-1. Brad Chapdelain led Goffstown (6-2) with three goals.

Baseball

Nashua North 7, Alvirne 6: At Nashua, Zach Smith improved his record to 5-1 by pitching two innings of relief to help North raise its Division I record to 8-4. Brendan Martin Spencer Madden and Matt Fortin each had two hits for the Titans.


Alvirne 8, Trinity 4: The Broncos (5-5) made the most of five hits Friday night. Luis Matrille knocked in two runs for the winners.

Softball

Monadnock 14, Hillsboro-Deering 6: At Swanzey, Perri Adams struck out 12 batters to help Monadnock improve to 5-2. Jordan Blake, Kitty Tolman and Kendall Barnett each had two hits for Monadnock.
