NH Military People: Alvirne alumna graduates from Air Force training


Alvirne alumna graduates from Air Force training



Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Kayla M. McWalter graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The eight-week program included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

McWalter, the daughter of Keith McWalter of Weymouth, Mass., and Julie Mitchell of Hudson, is a 2012 graduate of Alvirne High School in Hudson.



John Stark graduate finishes Army training



Army Pvt. Corey K. Connor has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

The nine-week program included training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, basic combat skills, map reading, tactics, military courtesy and justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions.

Connor, the son of Barbara Tardiff of Weare, is a 2012 graduate of John Stark Regional High School in Weare.



West graduate completes advanced Army training



Army National Guard Pfc. James L. Child has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training.

During the advanced training, Pfc. Child completed the military police specialist course to acquire skills to provide combat area support, conduct battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations, and law and order operations.

Additional training included providing peacetime support to the military community through security of resources, crime prevention programs and preservation of law and order.

Child, the son of Paula and Loring Child of Manchester, is a 2012 graduate of Manchester High School West.
