Grantham man is Geospatial Hall of Famer
Curtis B. Ward was inducted on May 13 in a ceremony at the agency's headquarters in Springfield, Va.
"Mr. Ward's many achievements in serving his country while helping shape the agency have earned him honor and respect, as well as a distinguished place in the NGA Hall of Fame," said Letitia A. Long, director of the agency.
He also earned a master of science in photogrammetry from Purdue University. Photogrammetry is the practice of determining the geometric properties of objects from photographic images.
Ward's contributions to the intelligence community include leadership roles in two agency reconstruction efforts, as well as serving as the Defense Mapping Agency civilian lead at the Dayton Peace Accord negotiations of 1995 that ended the Bosnian war, the association said.
