Currier offers free admission for military members and families on Memorial Day
MANCHESTER — The Currier Museum of Art will be open Memorial Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and military personnel and their families will be admitted free as part of the fourth annual Blue Star Museums Program.
Active military personnel, veterans and their immediate families get free general admission year-round.
Admission is free for children age 17 and under.
The National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,500 museums across America collaborate to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Leadership support has been provided by MetLife Foundation. The complete list of participating museums is available at www.arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.
Guests are asked to show their military ID for free admission.
The Currier is located at 150 Ash St., is wheelchair accessible and offers free parking.
Museum hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Open until 8 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Closed Tuesday.
