NHIAA Roundup: Santos hits milestone in BG girls’ lacrosse win

Callie Santos scored eight times and went over the 200-goal mark for her career to lead the Bishop Guertin of Nashua girls’ lacrosse team to a 22-14 victory over St. Thomas on Thursday in Dover. <br /><br />Santos also had three assists for the Cardinals (10-4). Caley Prunier, Averi Farhart and Kristin Cameron each had three goals for Bishop Guertin. Prunier added six assists, Cameron three, Emma Annand three and Farhart a couple. Nicole Pettiglio had two goals and two assists and Jess Lambert two goals. Rachael Lebel had six saves for Bishop Guertin.<br /><br /><strong>Plymouth 18, Gilford 5: </strong>Plymouth Regional High secured fourth place in the upcoming Division III girls’ lacrosse state tournament with an 18-5 victory over host Gilford Thursday. Risa Mosenthal collected six goals and Ann Furbush added five for the Bobcats. Michelle Testa had two goals for 1-13 Gilford. Plymouth is 11-3.<br /><br /><strong>Souhegan 8, Pinkerton Academy 7: </strong>Mickinzie Larivee scored four goals to lead the Sabers (15-1) to a comeback win, their 11th straight. Megan Kolopsky had three saves for Souhegan. Kennedy Daziel and Maggie McCarthy each had a pair of goals for Pinkerton (14-4), which had its win streak snapped at four. Sarah Lambert made five saves for the Astros.<br /><br /><strong>Londonderry 18, Salem 11: </strong>No character style: At Salem, Julie Wasserman scored four goals and Alexa Bedell and Sarah Bell each had three to lead the Lancers (12-5). Noelle Lambert and Chelsea Lewis each had a pair of goals.<br /><br /><strong>Nashua North 16, Nashua South 4:</strong> At Stellos Stadium, Ellie Shuman scored four goals and Kara Upton added two goals and two assists for the 10-6 Titans. The Purple Panthers (0-17) were led by Colleen Rottman with three goals.<br /><br /><strong>Derryfield 23, Pelham 1: </strong>In Manchester, Atlee Coler scored five goals and had four assists. Sarah Porat added three goals for 12-2 Derryfield. Pelham is 0-14<br /><br /><strong>Boys’ lacrosse</strong><br /><br /><strong>Pinkerton Academy 19, Cape Elizabeth 5: </strong>At Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Dom Corsetto and Evan Sweeney scored three goals each to lead the Astros (17-1) on Wednesday. Corsetto also had three assists. Joshua Gallant added a couple of goals and Kenny Sturgess made 10 saves. Cape Elizabeth fell to 9-3.<br /><br /><strong>Baseball</strong><br /><br /><strong>Sunapee 12, Epping 3:</strong> In Sunapee, winning pitcher James Fitzgerald homered for Sunapee (11-4). For Epping, George Bradley, John Boomhower and Jake West (three hits) each had an RBI. Nate Cameron also had three hits in the loss for the 1-14 Blue Devils.<br /><br /><strong>Derryfield 8, Nute 2:</strong> In Milton, winning pitcher Kyle Slevira went the distance, throwing a four-hitter with nine strikeouts. He walked two batters on 92 pitchers. Parker Blaisdell led the Cougars with two hits and drove in two runs. Derryfield improved to 9-6.<br /><br /><strong>ConVal 4, Windham 3: </strong>In Peterborough, the Cougars (11-4) were led by Ivon Clough’s five-hitter over seven innings. Clough had an RBI triple and Harrison LeFlem added an RBI double. Windham fell to 11-6.<br /><br /><strong>Softball</strong><br /><br /><strong>Windham 7, Con-Val 3: </strong> At Peterborough, an Emily Comtois ninth-inning grand slam off the left field foul pole powered the Jaguars (11-5) and snapped a six-game Cougar (13-2) win streak. Freshman Jaime Cleasby allowed six hits and struck out 16 for her first varsity win. Christina Steere had three hits and Cailyn Costa two for Windham.
