State Motors receives top dealer honor
MANCHESTER - Lincoln dealer State Motors Inc. has received the 2012 President's Award from Ford, the second year in a row the dealership has earned the honor.
State Motors is the top-volume Lincoln dealer in all of New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont, according to the 2012 Lincoln Division North East all cars combined report. Just 10 percent of Ford and Lincoln dealers nationally receive the President's Award.
Hoyle, Tanner names Mulleavey president
MANCHESTER - Christopher R. Mulleavey of Concord has been elected president by the board of directors of Hoyle, Tanner & Associates, a Manchester-based consulting engineering firm. James B. Boothroyd, former president, will remain with the company as chief executive officer and chairman.
Mulleavey joined the firm as a transportation engineer in 1998 and most recently served as director of transportation services overseeing highway, bridge, civil and building groups in New England, Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands. His is a graduate of New England College with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering and is licensed in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine.
EVR earns Telly award for credit union spot
MANCHESTER - Eisenberg, Vital & Ryze Advertising LLC (EVR), which provides strategic and creative services for branding and marketing communications, has been awarded a Telly in the 34th annual Telly Awards competition, a honor that recognizes film and video production. The agency won bronze in the banking category for its production of the Bellwether Community Credit Union "Easy Chair" commercial. The 30-second television spot utilizes the concept of an "easy chair" to represent the essence of banking at Bellwether Community Credit Union.
3 named to Community Loan Fund board
CONCORD - Community leaders from Bedford, Concord and Dover have been elected to full terms on the board of directors of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) based in Concord.
Tom Bunnell of Concord is a consultant in the areas of public interest and health policy. He is the former director and public policy specialist at the UNH School of Law's Institute for Health, Law & Ethics.
Daniel Muller of Bedford joins the Community Loan Fund board for the second time. He is a retired partner from the law firm of Nixon Peabody in Manchester, where he concentrated on real estate, banking and loan transactions, and loan workouts.
Paul Spang of Dover has been active with the Community Loan Fund for years, as a member of its Vested for Growth Committee and Business Investment Group. He is president of Spang Management Company Inc., a consulting firm specializing in turnaround management, financial management, strategic and business planning for small- to medium-sized companies.
Laprise, Souza earn insurance designation
MANCHESTER - The Insurance Institute of America recently acknowledged the designation of accredited adviser in insurance (AAI) to Nicole Laprise and Barbara Souza of Cross Insurance.
They were among a select number of individuals who completed a three-course program that addresses technical knowledge of insurance products, market knowledge of those who buy insurance, and how to manage office operations to facilitate sales.
Laprise has been a commercial account manager for Cross Insurance for more than 10 years. Souza has 35 years of insurance experience and has been a commercial account manager for Cross Insurance for more than six years. They both also hold professional designations as accredited customer service representatives.
Healthsouth recognizes employee of the quarter
CONCORD - HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Concord recognized Sandy Pender, a licensed nursing assistant, as the hospital's employee of the quarter. Pender, a resident of Loudon, has worked at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital for 13 years.
"Sandy is such a valuable part of the team at HealthSouth. She works hard to anticipate the needs of her patients quietly and efficiently," said Joe Adamski, director of nursing.
Vicinanzo named to lawyers' who's who
MANCHESTER - David Vicinanzo, a partner with Nixon Peabody LLP in Manchester and Boston, has been named to the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers - Business Crime Defense for 2013. The list is comprised of the leading white collar defense lawyers from around the world and is based on an analysis of opinions of peers and clients.
Vicinanzo, a former federal prosecutor and adviser to the U.S. Attorney General, leads the firm's national government investigations and white collar defense practice. Vicinanzo has been named to the international list since 2008 in Boston and is the only lawyer on the list from New Hampshire.
