Mom and daughter rescued from Mascoma River
LEBANON — A woman and her daughter were rescued Saturday from the Mascoma River, according to a release from the fire department.
Firefighters went to the river shortly before 3:15 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a woman and a young child shouting for help in the middle of the river in the area of River Side Drive.
They had been swept down the river after entering upstream to swim, the release said.
The woman and child were rescued shortly after 3:30 p.m. They declined treatment at a hospital, the release said.
