CONCORD — The union representing the state’s Fish and Game patrol, prison guards and liquor enforcement officers will receive 6 percent pay raises over 18 months while agreeing to changes in their health insurance coverage.
The employees of the State Liquor Commission and departments of Corrections and Fish and Game will receive pay raises of 1.5 percent in mid-July, 2.25 percent in July of 2014 and 2.25 percent in January of 2015.
According to union officials, it is the first pay raise in five years.
The New England Police Benevolent Association also agreed to changes in health care coverage, which includes adoption of a so-called site-of-service plan, in which employees are changed a deductible if they don’t go to specified providers. Covered members will also receive an annual $500 credit toward health care costs if they receive certain specified preventative treatment, such as undergoing physical exams and getting flu shots.
The union will also start contributing to the cost of dental insurance. Employees also agreed to contribute toward their dental coverage and will swap some sick leave benefits for short-term disability coverage.
