Three Nashua men arrested in Hudson in car thefts

HUDSON - Three Nashua men were arrested Sunday night, charged in connection with a series of car and truck thefts.
Officer Alan Marcotte stopped a car at 6:15 p.m. Sunday on Belknap Road and determined the 2010 Toyota Corolla had been reported stolen in Nashua.
The driver, Steven Malonson, 18, of Nashua, fled on foot, but later was located on Central Street near Vinton Street. He was charged with receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
A passenger, identified as Matthew Gelardi, 18, of Lawrence, Mass., was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension.
About the same time, Hudson police received a report of a 2006 Jeep Liberty that had just been stolen. Moments later, patrol officers located another stolen vehicle in the same area as the original stop. That vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 pickup, was determined to have been stolen out of Nashua.
Officers arrested Nicholas Dawkins, 21, and Edgar Lopez, 17, both Nashua, who were each charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property related to the Chevrolet truck and the Jeep Liberty.
Capt. Bill Avery said the stolen vehicles were located within a mile of each other and those arrested in the thefts were working together.
Bail for Malonson and Lopez was set at $5,000 cash, while Gelardi's was set at $1,000 and Dawkins' at $7,000 cash/surety.
None of them posted bail, and all four are scheduled to be arraigned today.
