KEENE – A Davis Street garage was lost in a three-alarm fire early Sunday morning.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, said Keene Fire Captain Arthur Johnson.
Firefighters were called to 29 Davis St. at 1:38 a.m. for a fire in a garage that was attached to a two-story apartment house.
Two residents of the apartment house were evacuated and were assisted by the Red Cross.
No one was injured. The garage was destroyed and the apartment house sustained smoke and water damage.
Firefighters had the blaze under control at 3 a.m., Johnson said.
Keene firefighters were assisted by Keene police and firefighters from Swanzey, Brattleboro, Peterborough and Sullivan. R.J. Diluzio Ambulance Service sent two ambulances. Chesterfield, Surry, Brattleboro, Walpole and Swanzey firefighters covered the Keene fire station during the response.
Johnson said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
