Massage parlor owner indicted for human trafficking

SALEM, Mass. — An Essex County grand jury indicted Lori Ann Barron, 50, of Salem, N.H., yesterday on three counts of human trafficking, maintaining a house of prostitution, deriving support from prostitution, witness intimidation, and videotaping unsuspecting nude persons, the office of District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said.

Five more arrests in cockfighting crackdown

The five men join four other Lawrence men also charged with animal cruelty last month after Massachusetts State Police pulled over the minivan they were driving through Worcester and found cockfighting paraphernalia, including razor blades, nail clippers and imitation spurs in the vehicle.
