Derry, Londonderry legionnaires win

Jamie Collins’ two-run single broke a 3-3 tie and lifted Derry to a 5-3 victory over Booma Post of Portsmouth on Sunday at Pinkerton Academy.

The hit helped to make a winner of Andrew Herlihy, who went the distance, scattering seven hits. Herlihy fanned six and walked two.

Collins and teammate Justin Bundzinski collected two hits each for Derry, 6-1 in District B. Connor McAuley and Evan Pugliese had two hits apiece for Booma.


Londonderry 4, Nashua 2: Drew Ellis’ two-run single in the bottom of the eighth gave Londonderry the win in District B play Sunday.

Ryan Moloney added an RBI double for Londonderry, which got three no-hit innings in relief from Bobby Baril, who earned the win. Keith Simpson pitched the ninth for the save. Londonderry is 2-1 in District B.

Jeff Lunn and Nick Reed had RBI doubles for Nashua. Lunn started and went seven strong innings, allowing two runs. Jason Ferlan went 3-for-4 for Nashua.
