PORTSMOUTH — Attorney Jaye L. Rancourt, a shareholder at Brennan, Caron, Lenehan and Iacopino was named president of the NH Bar Association for the 2013-14 term at the association's annual meeting in Portsmouth on June 21.
In 2009, Rancourt was the recipient of the N.H. Bar Foundation Robert E. Kirby Award, an annual award that recognizes the professionalism of attorneys under the age of 35.
MANCHESTER — Saint Anselm College executive vice president Suzanne Mellon, Ph.D., R.N., has been named the 10th president of Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mellon has served as the college's chief operating officer and second in command to Father Jonathan DeFelice, president of Saint Anselm, since 2009. In that position, she was responsible for all areas of the college, including academic affairs, advancement, finance, marketing, enrollment, student affairs, athletics and other administrative areas.
Elaine K. Charles has joined Optima Bank as a mortgage originator in the Dover loan office. Charles, who has more than 25 years of banking and lending experience, will assist customers with residential mortgages, refinancing, home equity loans and jumbo mortgages.
MANCHESTER — Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green PA shareholder David W. McGrath was among the 36 Leadership New Hampshire graduates for the 2013 class. Graduates include established and emerging leaders from across the state with a wide range of backgrounds, professional skills, interests, geographical locations and age.
Leadership New Hampshire is an intensive nine-month educational program that engages New Hampshire citizens in discussions about the challenges and leadership opportunities across the state in order to enhance a network of effective and knowledgeable leaders.
GFA Federal Credit Union recently announced the promotion of Nicole Blais to the position of assistant branch manager for the Rindge branch. Blais joined GFA in 1998. She has been instrumental in the overall success of the GFA Parker Street Branch while serving in her previous positions as a part-time teller to full-time teller, teller supervisor and financial services specialist. Blais attended Mount Wachusett Community College.
