NH American Legion Auxiliary holds 94th state convention
MANCHESTER — The 94th annual state convention of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New Hampshire, was held last month at the Radisson Hotel.
President Claudia Vatcher presided over the 212 delegates from throughout the state. Guests and speakers included Blue Star Mother Ann Moore; Chapeau Departmental 8/40 Helen Levesque; and American Legion Eastern Division National Vice President Joan Reinoehl.
Department Legion Commander Ken Maynard, whose project was the New Hampshire Food Bank, raised $12,000. Department President Claudia Vatcher supported the NH Veterans Fund and raised another $12,000. S.A.L. Detachment Commander Richard Pond worked with Camp Spaldin and helped contribute clothing, sleeping equipment and funds of $2,500. Jr. Auxiliary President Abigail Smith supported the VA medical Center's art program and raised $2,000.
New officers installed include Lisa Rojek of Ctr. Barnstead, department president; Cherie Hebert of Litchfield, first vice; Jessie Bernard of Jaffrey, second vice. Joyce Flanders of New Ipswich, secretary/treasurer; Cheryl Fournier of New Ipswich, historian; Paula-Carol Alger of Derry, chaplain; Claudia Vatcher of Newmarket, national executive committeewoman; Gail Hoage of New Durham, sgt-at-arms.
