Gingras being recommended as new Nashua schools AD

NASHUA - A Nashua High School graduate and award-winning math teacher at Nashua South is being recommended to take over as the next director of athletics for the Nashua School District.

Lisa Gingras was the unanimous top choice among five finalists selected by the 13-member search committee, said Jen Seusing, assistant superintendent for Nashua Schools. Her nomination will go before the full Board of Education when it meets Monday night.

"One of the main criteria we were looking for was someone to bring longevity, consistency and leadership to the position," Seusing said. "The interview team felt she featured the kind of consistency and strong, positive and effective leadership needed for the job."

Gingras, who graduated Nashua High School (now Nashua South) in 1990, started her coaching career with the Salem High School softball team in 1996. The Blue Devils won the Class A state title two years later. She has also been varsity volleyball coach at Alvirne for 13 years. If approved, Gingras will succeed Tom Arria, who is leaving after three years to become AD at the Cambridge Rindge & Latin School in Cambridge, Mass.
