Glenn's home run gives Fisher Cats an extra-inning win in Trenton

Brad Glenn homered in the 10th inning and reliever Randy Boone worked a quiet bottom of the frame to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 4-3 win at Trenton on  Friday.

Boone got the win to improve to 2-0. Marcus Stroman worked seven strong innings, allowing just two runs, but did not figure in the decision. New Hampshire (50-47) led 3-0 after four innings, but Trenton (49-49) came back with single runs in the fifth, seventh and eighth. Kevin Nolan went 4-for-4 for New Hampshire and Ryan Schimpf was 3-for-4 with a triple.

The teams meet again Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.

Winning streak snapped

The Trenton Thunder snapped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats' eight-game winning streak with a 9-2 victory Thursday night at Arm & Hammer Park in Trenton, N.J..Trenton received home runs from Yeral Sanchez and Slade Heathcott in the win.

The Fisher Cats were trying to set a franchise record with their ninth straight win.Trenton jumped on New Hampshire starting pitcher Deck McGuire (5-8) in the first inning, with a three-run Sanchez home run.Leading 3-2 in the seventh, Trenton made it 5-2 with a Heathcott two-run homer off New Hampshire reliever Dustin Antolin before adding four more runs in the eighth off Fisher Cats pitcher Matt Wright.New Hampshire scored one run in the first inning on a Brad Glenn RBI single and added another run in the fourth when Jack Murphy's double drove in Nashua native Kevin Nolan.. The Fisher Cats pulled to within a run of Trenton, 3-2, in the fourth inning when Jack Murphy doubled home Nashua native Kevin Nolan.New Hampshire stranded 12 runners in the loss. Glenn had three hits for the Fisher Cats.
