Fisher Cats drop series finale at Trenton

The Fisher Cats played .500 on their four-game trip to New Jersey.

The Thunder pulled away from New Hampshire to win Sunday’s Eastern League game, 8-2, in Trenton. Four runs in the seventh inning salted away the contest and left Marcus Walden (6-10) a hard-luck loser. Walden allowed five hits and two runs in five innings of work.

New Hampshire’s Brian Van Kirk collected two hits and Tommy Manzella accounted for the team’s runs with a bases-loaded double in the seventh inning.

The Fisher Cats used a four-run sixth inning to win Saturday night’s game, 7-4. Adam Loewen went 3-for-4, with a double, two runs scored and two knocked in. Sean Nolin (7-2) earned the win with five innings of work. He allowed all four runs. Alan Farina pitched the ninth to notch his fifth save.
