Hearing changed for Belmont man charged with killing mother, brother

BELMONT — The probable cause hearing for Shawn Carter was rescheduled from Monday to Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. in Laconia District Court.

Carter, 31, has been charged by the state with two counts of killing his brother, Timothy Carter, 39, and two charges of killing his mother, Priscilla Carter, 59, on May 23 or 24. Their bodies were found May 24 at the family’s just-rented home at 20 Sunset Drive in Belmont.

Court officials were unsure why the hearing had been rescheduled.
