Manchester man denies stealing from parents
MANCHESTER — A city man on probation for drug and theft convictions pleaded innocent Monday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to three misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and three of theft by deception.
Mark Sweet, 28, of 978 Union St., asked Judge Gregory Michael why he was being charged twice for the same thing.
Sweet is accused of having in his possession items stolen from his parents and of obtaining money from a pawn shop for the items, which were not his to sell.
Trial was set for Aug. 26 and bail is $2,000 cash/surety, with conditions barring contact with his parents or pawn shops.
