Exeter man sentenced for stealing 16 handguns

BURLINGTON, Vt. — An Exeter, N.H., resident was sentenced this week to 4½ years in federal prison for his role in the burglary of a Quechee store where 16 handguns were stolen, federal prosecutors said.

Timothy Dzenowagis, 32, pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property in March and was sentenced Monday, according to a statement issued by the U.S. Attorney of Vermont’s office.

After prison, he will be under supervised release for 3 years, and he must pay restitution to Barrows Trading Post.

In a statement, prosecutors noted Dzenowagis has a substantial criminal record, including a lengthy incarceration in New Hampshire.
