State highway safety agency gets $92,000 grant for accident study

CONCORD — The New Hampshire Highway Safety Agency will receive a $92,000 federal grant to gather traffic, safety and accident data on the state’s highway system.

The information will be used by the state Department of Transportation and other agencies to determine roadway repairs and measures to prevent further accidents, injuries and fatalities.

In June, the same federal agency awarded the agency three grants totaling $1.4 million to conduct sobriety checkpoints, buy breathalyzer devices and seat belt education.
