New Hampshire receives $1M to help with flooding damage

CONCORD – Federal transportation officials have awarded the state $1 million to help repair roads and bridges in Cheshire, Grafton and Sullivan counties from flooding that began June 26.

Heavy rains between June 26 and July 3 caused widespread flooding damaging the highway systems in Cheshire, Grafton and Sullivan counties.

"This emergency relief grant is critical to supporting our recovery efforts and to replenishing state and local resources as communities continue to recover and repair the damage," said Gov. Maggie Hassan, who requested an emergency declaration to help pay for the damage.
