Jeb Bradley: I was joking about that Senate run

WOLFEBORO - State Sen. Jeb Bradley said he was joking when he told U.S. Rep. Peter King of New York Monday that the "rumors are true" that he would be running against Democratic U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in 2014.
"I was making light of all the rumors out there, sort of joking about it," Bradley said later Monday. "The fact is, I've made no decision at all."
Bradley, the Republican state Senate majority leader, was quoted in media outlets as telling King, who was visiting New Hampshire while he explores a presidential bid, he would run against Shaheen.
"When King asked Bradley whether he would run for the Senate, Bradley responded, 'All the rumors are true,'" according to a report by the Associated Press. "He added, 'The reaction I'm getting is very positive.'"
Bradley, who is contemplating a run against New Hampshire's senior U.S. senator, said he has not made a formal decision.
"I was overheard by a reporter while I was making light of the situation," he said. "Again, I have made no decisions."

Bradley's comments were quickly derided by New Hampshire Democratic Party spokesman Harrell Kirstein, who called it a "halfhearted" announcement.
"New Hampshire's middle-class families need someone on their side and Jeb Bradley has proven time and again that he isn't," Kirstein said.
