Derry council, school board spar over budget addition
Willis said the district and the board did not use the money added to the budget to add those positions back into the district. She said the district only added one-and-a-half positions back into the budget.
Willis also stated that the costs associated with Pinkerton Academy are not controlled by the local school district.
Osborne asked if the school district would be giving any of the $800,000 back to the town to help offset the town’s tax rate.
“Is it fair to say the $800,000 tax increase that was proposed and voted on is not going to be needed by the schools?” Osborne asked.
