Committee transfers more than $100,000 to cover inmate medical costs of two inmates

DOVER The man hospitalized after attempting suicide this year is no longer considered suicidal, but due to his hospital stay, the county is facing a bill of $88,960. The woman who stayed at the hospital for 23 days had a pre-existing condition that was not related to suicide, said Bower. Her medical bill would have cost the county $145,273, but after learning that the woman had insurance, the county officials worked with Wentworth-Douglas Hospital, and the bill was reduced to $4,000, said Bower.
