Manchester boy seriously injured riding bike

MANCHESTER — Police continue to investigate a Saturday afternoon crash between an 11-year-old bicyclist and a motorcyclist at the intersection of Spruce Street and Old Falls Road.
Justin Laclair, 11, of Manchester remains hospitalized at Boston Children's Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries, according to police. Lt. Maureen Tessier said he is expected to be OK.
He suffered internal and head injuries and initially was taken to Elliot Hospital before being transferred to the Boston hospital as a precaution, police said. Laclair was not wearing a helmet.

The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. when motorcyclist Hickory Murray, 25, of Manchester, on a 1980 Kawasaki, was traveling east on Spruce Street and collided with the boy, who was riding his BMX-style bicycle at the intersection with Old Falls Road.

It appears Laclair was riding with two friends, but they were not involved, authorities said.

Murray, who also wasn't wearing a helmet, was taken to Elliot Hospital to be treated for scrapes and bruises, police said.

Police said alcohol didn't appear to be a contributing factor.
