NHIAA Roundup: West boys edge past Trinity

Promise Kpee scored twice and assisted on Luan Sanches’ game-winning goal with 3:52 remaining in regulation as Manchester West’s boys’ soccer team beat visiting Trinity of Manchester, 3-2, on Tuesday.

West improved its record to 1-1. Matt Sanchez and Ian Brenner scored for Trinity, which fell to 0-1.

Andrew Laprise made eight saves for West, while Jacob Eldred made nine saves for Trinity.
Inter-Lakes 5, Franklin 1: Mason Peverly scored the first of his two goals in the first minute as Inter-Lakes of Meredith handed Franklin a defeat. Chris Yopp, Ryan Welch and Trevor Hentz also tallied for the Lakers (1-1). Kyle Sims scored for Franklin.
Hanover 2, Central 0: Rocco Linehan and Dan Hazlett each scored first-half goals as Hanover won its Division I opener. Hanover’s Alex Binum made three saves to record the shutout. Alec Patterson made five saves for the Little Green.
Souhegan 2, Windham 1: Devan Casey scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime as the Sabers opened the season with a victory. Windham’s Evan Ferri forced overtime by scoring with 20 seconds to play in regulation. Mike Hayden also scored for Souhegan.
Salem 5, Nashua South 3: Srishail Thapa’s two-goal performance was the highlight for South, which also received a goal from Ryan Guidaboni.

Girls’ soccer

Hillsboro-Deering 5, Mascenic 1: Jonas Hofstetter and Josh Gould each scored twice for Hillsboro-Deering, which also received a goal from Max Parenteau. Jared Stauffeneker scored for Mascenic.
Merrimack 4, Londonderry 1: Dayna Staffeiux scored twice as Merrimack raised its Division I record to 2-0. Jordan Cossey and Dena Noiseux also scored for the Tomahawks. Alex Laverriere scored for Londonderry (0-2).
Nashua South 3, Salem 3: Emily Durette, Sarah Allison and Michaela Nault scored for South, which overcame a two-goal deficit. Megan Mulusy, Rachel Lacroix and Kristin Korbani scored Salem’s goals.
Campbell 8, Pelham 0: Nikki Golden scored three goals and Jackie Sullivan added two more, as Campbell improved to 2-0. Natasha Abelson, Hannah Neild and Sydney Crema also scored for the Cougars, who received six saves from Heather Baron and two from Jessica Manning. Pelham fell to 0-2.
Epping 6, Farmington 0: Madeline Marchisio scored three goals to help Epping even its record at 1-1. Chloe Pelletier recorded 14 saves for the Blue Devils. Farmington dropped to 0-1.

Field hockey

Pinkerton 9, Nashua South 0: Kayli DeCosmo scored four goals, and Julie Saltamarcini had a goal and four assists in the Astros’ season-opening win over the Purple Panthers. Mindy Adams made 14 saves for South, while Astros keepers Jordan Dudley and Abbey Doherty each made one save.
Goffstown 6, ConVal 2: Tori Florence scored twice for Goffstown, which also got goals from Anne Steckowych, Molly Norton, Sydney Dubois and Olivia St. Jean.
