Mountain Ear weekly to become monthly tourist magazine
The Mountain Ear, the award-winning weekly newspaper produced for nearly 30 years by the late Steve Eastman and his brother, Tom, and sold in 2005, is turning into a glossy, monthly tourist magazine. Circulation will be changed from 15,000 a week to 25,000 a month, with distribution over a wider region, according to Frank Chilinski, president and publisher of Salmon Press Newspapers of Meredith, which bought the paper from Steve Eastman seven years ago.
