SALEM - Pedro Gonzalez went into the main event of Combat Zone MMA 45 on Friday night ranked No. 1 in the Northeast in the 135-pound division and most likely walked out of Rockingham Park with the top 10 spot at 155 pounds as well after dispensing with Billy Vaughan in just 1:55 of the first round.

In the co-main event at 165 pounds, Rodrigo Almeida continued his comeback after a shattered ankle had kept him out of action for 18 months by winning his second consecutive fight.

Almeida, one of the rising stars in the regional pro ranks, improved to 10-2 when he submitted Wayne Harnois via a rear naked choke in 2:55 of Round 1. Harnois, who had not fought in four years, dropped to 4-11 with his fourth consecutive loss.
