MANCHESTER — If you like offense, then you liked Friday night's Division I contest between Manchester Memorial and Merrimack. The teams scored three touchdowns in the final 52 seconds of the first half alone, and added another TD on the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter.

There were 15 touchdowns scored in the game, and when it ended the scoreboard read: Merrimack 53, Memorial 47.

Memorial led 47-27 in the third quarter, but Merrimack scored the game's final four touchdowns. Merrimack didn't have the lead until Jeff Genet capped the scoring on a 24-yard run with 6:48 to play.

Memorial quarterback Stephen Deane completed nine of 14 passes for 355 yards and four touchdowns in the loss.

Deane hooked up with Deon Ball for a 74-yard touchdown pass, connected with Isaac Velez for a 75-yard TD pass, found Peter Abood for a 53-yard TD pass and tossed a 26-yard scoring pass to Harmel Nkongolo. Memorial's rushing TDs came from Mohamed Elhassan (23 yards), Peter Abood (10 yards) and Daquan Henclewood (60 yards).

Jordan Miranda scored two rushing touchdowns (4 yards and 1 yard) for Merrimack, which also received an 8-yard TD run from quarterback Devin Gillis, a 10-yard TD run from Joe Giampietro, and a 46-yard TD pass from Gillis to Andrew DeGregorio. Gillis has six TD passes in two games.

The Merrimack defense also scored twice. Ryan Barry returned an interception 43 yards for a TD, and Fernando Santiago scooped up a fumble and scored from 30 yards away. Santiago's TD and Andrew Stockhauser's PAT made it 47-41 with 2:04 left in the third quarter.

The victory raised Merrimack's record to 2-0. The Tomahawks were coming off a 47-20 victory over Goffstown.

Memorial, which beat Salem 20-7 last weekend, dropped to 1-1

Memorial led 7-6 after one quarter, 34-20 at halftime and 47-41 after three quarters.
