Downtown Manchester sidewalk project near

MANCHESTER — Downtown sidewalks will get a $380,000 facelift this fall, with much of the sidewalk brickwork dug up and replaced with a combination of new brick and concrete, city officials said.

Lyman Construction is expected to start work on the project next week and complete it by mid-November.

Brick sidewalks will be replaced on the east side of Elm Street between Merrimack and Bridge streets, according to the Manchester Department of Public Works. Brick will be replaced on the west side of Elm Street between Stark and Mechanic streets.

The city plans to work with downtown merchants to allow them to stay open and to maintain customer access during the reconstruction project.
