BRENTWOOD — A Wakefield, Mass., teen was taken to a Boston hospital after suffering serious injuries when his dirt bike hit a tree, according to a release from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
The release said the teen was riding with friends about 5:20 p.m. on a dirt bike course in the woods off Route 125 when the accident happened. He suffered “serious bodily injury” and was taken to Beth Israel Hospital.
The teen, whose name was not released, was wearing a helmet and protective goggles at the time of the crash, the release said.
“This accident could have turned out for the worse if proper protective equipment was not worn.” said Conservation Officer Chris McKee. “This incident is a grave reminder that wearing a helmet, goggles and protective gear while out on the trail is extremely important.”
