NHIAA Football Roundup: Windham pulls out win
Brendan McInnis scored on a 38-yard run with 43.1 second to play to help the Windham football team erase a four-point deficit and beat Souhegan of Amherst, 30-26, Saturday in Windham.
The TD came on a fourth-and-one play.
Souhegan took a 26-22 lead when Drew Prescott scored on a 2-yard run with 1:20 left. It was Prescott's third TD of the game. Windham raised its Division II record to 2-1. Souhegan dropped to 0-3.
Pinkerton 27, Salem 2: Running back Manny Latimore and quarterback Jack Hanaway each ran for two touchdowns to help the Astros raise their Division I record to 2-1. Salem trailed 20-0 at halftime and dropped to 0-3.
Goffstown 34, Manchester West 0: Goffstown defeated Manchester West on the arm of sophomore quarterback Casey Gervais and the legs of Connor Bourque. Gervais was 5 of 8 for 109 yards with two touchdowns. He also ran one in from 27 yards. Bourque had two touchdowns, including a 70-yarder. Goffstown improved to 2-1 in Division I, while West dropped to 0-3.
Bow 28, Stevens 14: Chris Robbins and Matt Ehrenberg touchdown runs gave Bow (2-1) a 14-0 lead at halftime. A Gavin Lacourciere 1-yard TD run made it 21-0 before Stevens got on the board in the third. Another Ehrenberg touchdown made it 28-7. Stevens (2-1) got another score but could pull no closer.
Plymouth 42, Kennett 0: Jared Kuhel scored two touchdowns (one rushing, one interception), John Thomas (12 carries, 170 yards, touchdown) and Justin Robinson (two touchdowns) led the Bobcats (3-0). Kennett fell to 1-2.
Winnisquam 38, Farmington/Nute 0: Winnisquam forced two turnover and scored four touchdowns in the third quarter to raise its Division III record to 2-1. Farminton/Nute, which trailed 7-0 at the half, fell to 0-2 and has yet to score this season.
Campbell 29, Bishop Brady 28: Quarterback Chris McKenna tossed four touchdown passes to help Campbell improve its Division III record to 2-0. The Jaguars received a 35-yard field goal from Trevor Duquette and intercepted a Bishop Brady pass deep in Campbell territory to seal the win. Bishop Brady fell to 1-2.
Newfound 50, Franklin 15: Newfound trailed by a point at halftime, but scored 22 points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth to improve its Divison III record to 2-1 with this victory in Franklin. Running back Tyler Maviki carried the ball 23 times for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Newfound also received 199 yards rushing and a touchdown from quarterback Jared Dearborn. Franklin fell to 0-3.
Monadnock 40, Hollis/Brookline 33: Monadnock trailed 26-7, but rallied for a road victory that improved the Marauders' Division II record to 3-0. Hollis/Brookline slipped to 0-3.
