CHESTERFIELD — Police are searching for a man who robbed the J&J Discount store at gunpoint Monday afternoon.

Chesterfield police, along with Keene, Hinsdale, Walpole and New Hampshire State Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at about 4 p.m. at the J&J Discount Store in Chesterfield.

“The suspect entered the store with an unknown caliber, blue-steeled semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. After obtaining the cash, the suspect fled the store and got into the passenger side of a late model, light-colored vehicle and fled northbound on the Glebe Road,” Chesterfield police Lt. Duane Checkering said in a press release Monday night.

The robber is described as white, in his late teens to early twenties, about 5-foot-4 and 140 pounds, wearing black baggy pants, a purple, hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored sunglasses and a black baseball cap with an unknown emblem.

Police have released a video surveillance photo of the robber.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Chickering is asking anyone with information about the robbery to call him at (603) 363-4233 ext. 62.
