The Merrimack Valley Chapter of SCORE, the national nonprofit volunteer association that provides business advice to startups and existing small businesses, has elected new officers for the 70-member chapter of working and retired business professionals for the coming federal fiscal year.
The new officers, effective Oct. 1, are Dianne Connolly, Windham, president; Thomas Osgood, Nashua, first vice president; William Wilkes, Merrimack, second vice president; Charles Fairman, Bedford, secretary; and Geoffrey Geoffrion, Merrimack, treasurer.
Connolly, who becomes the chapter's first woman president, founded a medical staffing company in Windham that now serves much of the country. She has also long been active in nonprofits including the Derryfield School, Windham Economic Development Committee and the Salvation Army.
Osgood has been an independent business owner and also held corporate management positions with a leading national retail organization.
Wilkes spent more than 20 years in management in the semiconductor industry and is now involved in real estate investment and commercial development activities.
Fairman held various positions in the defense industry. His most unusual assignment was a major program for the Brazilian Air Force called the "System for the Surveillance of the Amazon" which included a two-year assignment living there. He is a director of the Bedford Rotary.
Geoffrion's career has been in corporate financial management and auditing, and in his last assignment before retiring he served a stint as an auditor in Kuwait in support of the U.S. Army. He is active in church and recreational affairs in Nashua.
The chapter annually reaches more than 1,000 entrepreneurs and small business owners every year, via no-charge personalized business mentoring, as well as workshops, in a broad swathe along the Merrimack River from greater Concord to the Massachusetts border. Mentoring can be one-time or long-term depending on the client's need.
