NHIAA Roundup: MacPherson leads Raymond booters

Playing their fourth game in six days didn’t prevent the Rams from continuing their winning ways.

Tucker MacPherson scored his 30th and 31st goals of the season to lead Raymond past Pelham 3-2 in a boys’ soccer match in Raymond Monday.

The Rams (9-2) got the game-winner from Billy Harmon in the 59th minute. The assist went to Dan Burgess. Harmon also had two assists and Mike Schilleriff added one. Raymond goalies Curt Fitton (four saves) and Collin Deyarmin (four saves) combined on the win. Pelham’s goals came from Greg Guneso (24th minute) and Haley Kearacy (57th minute). Pelham fell to 4-7.

Volleyball

Goffstown 3, Keene 1 (25-17, 25-10, 23-25, 25-8): At Goffstown, top performers for Keene (1-10) were Madison Wells (seven digs, two kills), Anna Hubbard (six digs, one kill) and Maya Ginsberg (six assists). Leading Goffstown (7-4) were Jess Williamson (nine kills, two aces), Kendra Siemiesz (15 assists, three kills), Katie Howe (six kills, four digs) and Emilie Veilliux with 10 assists.
Bedford 3, Spaulding 2 (26-28, 25-19, 26-28, 25-22, 15-13): At Rochester, Bedford was led by Kendal Sonovick (22 kills, one block, three aces, 20 digs), Lizzie Wardwell (57 assists) and Chandler Lake with 23 digs. Casey Ford had 41 digs for Spaulding.
Bedford 3, Timberlane 0 (Friday): In Bedford, the Bulldogs swept the match, 25-18, 28-26 and 25-20. Hannah Koehler led the winners with 12 kills, six blocks and eight aces. Kendal Sonovick added five kills and 15 digs. Courtney O’Connel contributed five kills and two blocks.
Alvirne 3, Londonderry 0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-11): Alvirne is 9-2. Londonderry (3-9) was led by Madison Milton (five kills) and Taylor Collins (four kills). Alvirne was led by Marisa Coronis with 13 kills and three blocks and Kayla Gendron with four kills and three blocks.
Nashua North 3, Pinkerton 0 (25-22, 25-22, 27-25): North was led by Taylor Choate with 13 service points and three blocks. Taylor Iannone added 20 service points. Kelsey Cummings had 14 digs for Pinkerton and teammate Lexie Verreault added 13 digs. Olivia Mathieu added 11 digs.
Hillsboro-Deering 3, John Stark 2 (11-25, 14-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-9): Hannah Pepper had five kills and Ginny Philbrick had nine kills in the win. Dakota Anderson added four digs.
Merrimack 3, Hollis/Brookline 2 (23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 15-8): At Merrimack, Hollis/Brookline was led by Savannah Werne (14 kills), Bella Zampieri (10 kills, 6 aces), Kristin Johnson (four kills) and Jessica Ciarcia (16 digs).

Field hockey

Pinkerton 5, Nashua North 1: At Derry, Julie Saltamartini scored three goals for Pinkerton (10-1) which has won nine straight games. Samantha Day and Jessica Cote each tallied one goal. Kaylie DeCosmo had three assists. Caitlin Russell scored rfor North.
Salem 8, Manchester Central 0: At Salem, Rachael Denning scored two goals and Lizzy Twomey had a goal and two assists for Salem (10-2). Erika Smith also had a goal and an assist. Meaghan Williams stopped two shots for the Blue Devils. Mikaela Edmonds made 25 saves for Central (3-6-2).
Bishop Guertin 6, Nashua South 0: At Nashua, Carly Caveny scored three goals and Mia Vecchione had two. Kelly Mahoney had six saves in the shutout for 4-6 BG. Nashua South’s Mindy Weaver had 11 saves in goal.
