Man flown to Maine hospital for head injury Tuesday night listed in satisfactory condition

ROCHESTER — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after being involved in an accident along Old Dover Road Monday evening.

Emergency personnel responded around 6:45 p.m. after a 1997 Suzuki GSF, driven by Christopher Morin, 23, of Lebanon, Maine, was involved in an accident near the Exit 11 off-ramp from the Spaulding Turnpike — Route 16.

The off-ramp and Old Dover Road were closed down while emergency personnel treated the 42-year-old man, who was found in the roadway "several yards" away the motorcycle. He was flown by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, according to police.

"He was transported with head trauma and his injuries are serious, but not life-threatening," Capt. Paul Toussaint said, adding it's still unclear whether Morin was wearing a helmet.

As of Wednesday, Morin was listed in satisfactory condition at Maine Medical, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

The accident remains under investigation.
