Small quake rattles central NH

CONTOOCOOK — A small earthquake rumbled central New Hampshire Thursday evening, according to observations taken at the Weston Observatory at Boston College.

The observatory reported that a 2.5 to 2.6 magnitude earthquake happened just northwest of Contoocook.

No data was available on the earthquake from the United States Geological Survey's website, which is down due to the partial government shutdown.
